CEMCDO TOURISM, ICTD GOING CLOUD COMPUTING
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (February 5, 2015) – ICTD under the City Mayors Office of the Local Government Unit of General Santos City (LGU-GSC) presented the SDLC or the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to Mr. Edgar Cadiente, Asst. Dept. Head – CEMCDO (City Economic Management Cooperative and Development Office) on February 5, 2015.
Percival Pasuelo, IT Officer II and ICT Division Chief with Leonard Pe, IT Officer I stressed the importance of proper planning and comprehensive assessment before any script of programming starts. ICTD follows own developed standard to ensure successful system or software development utilizing various tools. Electronic Government Enterprise Architecture (EGEA) is one of the sources tapped by ICTD to strengthen its current strategies and methodologies.
Hardware infrastructure services are included as part of the assessment processes. Roger Tura and Rolando Patac, Jr. (Data Controller I) supervise the hardware and software support services of ICTD. Recommendation to purchase new hardware or maintain present HW inventory of CEMCDO is established parallel to the on-going brainstorming.
Anna Lou Buyco and Irene Casipe (Computer Programmer I) handle the Business Information Protocols and Strategies (BIPS) covering the business information services, data services, SIPOC, process mapping and etcetera. SDLC forms to be used and to be answered by CEMCDO frontline users form part of the assessment process. Checklist is maintained by ICTD to ensure all manual processes based on legal mandates are properly accounted.
The CEMCDO proposed system is to address the statistical report requirement in compliance with City Ordinance to monitor tourism-related index in relation to the hotel services in General Santos City. The online system will streamline the report submission of all hoteliers in real-time mode with database security features to promote confidentiality of information and provide the requesting office with efficient reporting tool. The proposed system will serve as one-time lifetime database retrieval system.
Official start of SDLC will follow after the signing of internal agreement between CEMCDO and ICTD next week.
