BUILDING PLANS TO BE ARCHIVED BY OBO, CEO
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (March 11, 2015) – Blueprint hardcopies of the plans submitted for permit to the Office of the Building Official (OBO) and building plans of the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) will soon be archived using the ICTD in-house developed Electronic Archiving System.
On March 11, 2015 at the Office of the Building Official, the Information and Communications Technology Division (ICTD) under the City Mayor’s Office presented the finished computer software to both offices. Engr. Juan Marco Antonio Reyes with his division chiefs and administrative staff from OBO together with Mary Grace de Gracia, Supervising Administrative Officer (SAO) from CEO actively partipated in the presentation spearheaded by Percival Pasuelo, IT Officer II. The hands-on actual data entry was facilitated by Mary Claudette Benatero, Computer Programmer I supported by Charles Henry Lumba, Admininstrative Assistant. The technical production was handled by the Computer Hardware and Software Support Services Team led by Roger Tura, Data Controller I. Leonard Pe, IT Officer I, developed the software using MS Visual Basic Dot Net under MSSQL Database Server.
According to ICT Division Chief, Percival Pasuelo, “the system is simple to use and maintain, the most critical part is the plan how to start the implementation.” Thus ICTD prepared a straight-forward step-by-step procedure from planning the strategy by simply following the four W and one H universal method. That is answering the questions: What documents to digitize? Who will do the digitizing, encoding, validating, retrieving? When to start the activity? And Where will be the location of the digitizing area?
Once these building plans are archived, real-time query and verification of documents can be done by authorized personnel.
