GSO TO ADOPT ICTD'S ELECTRONIC ARCHIVING

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (March 11, 2015) – By default, all documents of the Local Government of General Santos City must be stored at the General Services Office (GSO). With ICTD-initiated Electronic Archiving System ready for installation and implementation, GSO’s need to digitally store the documents of the city can be addressed by the system. Basic requirement for implementation include the hardware requirement including a workstation, a server, one scanner or digital camera. Peopleware requirement includes one circulating staff, one digitizer, one encoder and one validator.

Randy Ortiz, one of the staff of GSO, posted one concern regarding the issue of automating one record with multiple image attachment with one “browse-all select-all” technique. Leonard Pe, IT Officer I of ICTD solve the issue as soon as it was presented by Percival Pasuelo, ICT Division Chief, to him. The updated version of the e-Archives as requested by Ortiz is done and ready for re-installation by the ICTD Computer Hardware and Software Support Services Team supervised by Roger Tura, Data Controller I.

Leonard Pe developed the system in compliance with RA 9470 also known as the National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007.
